FDA Roundup
This week at the FDA — good news, bad news, and something about nipples:
- The long-touted “Sentinel Initiative” program will finally get underway, using Medicare Part D claims data to search for adverse events or other drug-associated risks…
- … Problems in China again, this time because the Chinese government may be delaying attempts by the FDA to set up local offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou…
- … and a warning against nipple cream.

Jen,
So let me get this straight, the Chinese are going to allow the managed care corporations to set up shop but not the FDA? Hmmm….. Well I guess if they are not allowed in we can expect more led tainted toys and contaminated toothpaste and dog food. The FDA will probably quitely bow its head and go OK.
