A Call for John McCain’s Health History: Vital or Prejudice?
Robert Greenwald is calling for Senator John McCain to release his health records claiming that only partial records have been released to only a select few. He and Brave New Films have released a video that features images of Sen. McCain and doctors discussing his history of cancer (which can be seen below), and he has also been encouraging people to write to Jim Lehrer asking him to question the senator about his health during tonight’s debate (which seems as if it will definitely take place tonight).
“John McCain’s health records must be released”
Do you see the call for the release of all of Sen. McCain’s health history important to the election and to the country, or do you see it as a prejudice against cancer survivors? I honestly see it differently every time I read or see anything about this. I’m very aware of Robert Greenwald’s political leanings, so I worry that his call might look as if he’s picking on Sen. McCain when he really might have the country’s best interests at heart. Your thoughts?

McCain allowed a few reporters to look at his records, which comprise over 1700 pages, for a few hours. They were not allowed to make copies. By itself, that makes it look as though he is trying to hide something while claiming disclosure.
He is the oldest candidate we have had. He has a health history that includes 5 years of torture and bouts with cancer. His behavior has been increasingly erratic. The repeated confusion over foreign policy matters such as Czechoslovakia, Sunni/Shia, and who Zapatero is raise questions about whether dementia could be in its beginning stages.
If he had picked Joe Biden as his running mate, maybe the questions would be less urgent. But he picked a clearly unqualified person to step in if he becomes incapacitated.
The answer to your question: vital. And I have not watched the Greenwald video. This is obvious.

I guarantee you that anyone who is McCain’s age has SOMETHING wrong - diabetes, heart, arthritis, cancer, you name it.
Unless we get Obama’s health history (did I miss that?) I’d say no to getting it. You get the package - age, warts, and all. Elect the candidate, not his health.
